Dancing Coastline, Mangrove Tree 2023
Recycled fabric, plastics, buttons, wire and thread, 36”x 30”x28”
The mangrove tree lives in the boarder of tropical coastlines and both builds and maintains its environment. This one is made of used and discarded materials that are can end up in these ecosystems if we don’t recycle them in creative ways.
These three plants, the iris, sundew and pitcher plants are some of the show stoppers growing In the Abita Creek Flatwood Preserve of Louisiana. This ecosystem is at 1-5% of its natural range.
The Cypress Tree Grow On
This is a soft sculpture of a cypress tree growing with no land in sight with a human landscape sunken and reclaimed by nature. Cypress trees need to germinate on land so this tree witnessed the rise of the ocean.
The Garden Of Legends, I did the vinyl foliage for the garden. All sewn during covid LockDown!
